Un’altra grande prestazione in Belgio della Valcar-Travel & Service che allo SPAR Flanders Diamond Tour corre alla pari delle maggiori squadre internazionali e conquista il secondo posto grazie a una superlativa Chiara Consonni che viene superata allo sprint soltanto da Lorena Wiebes. Terza una sorprendente Amber Van Der Hulst, nelle dieci anche l’ottima Silvia Persico, sesta.
Ma al di là dei piazzamenti la nota positiva di giornata è stata la prova collettiva delle ragazze dirette da Davide Arzeni che hanno saputo correre compatte e farsi trovare pronte nei momenti decisivi della gara soprattutto nel finale.
Infatti è anche grazie al lavoro di Martina Alzini, Elisa Balsamo, Eleonora Gasparrini, Vittoria Guazzini e Silvia Pollicini se la fuga di giornata di Silke Smulders è stata annullata a poco meno di dieci chilometri dall’arrivo.
Negli ultimi cinque chilometri è un’autentica battaglia tra i treni delle velociste. A 2 Km dall’arrivo il treno della DSM prende in mano il comando delle operazioni, ma le ragazze della Valcar-Travel & Service guidate da Vittoria Guazzini riescono ad insidiare il treno avversario fino a conquistare la testa della corsa. Nel finale è bagarre assoluta con Vittoria Guazzini che addirittura va talmente veloce da staccarsi dal gruppo creando un piccolo buco prontamente ricucito dalle compagne di squadra.
Nell’ultimo concitato Km le carte si rimescolano di nuovo e nel duello finale Wiebes-Consonni è l’olandese ad avere la meglio.

Another great performance by Valcar-Travel & Service in Belgium who at the SPAR Flanders Diamond Tour runs on par with the major international teams and wins second place thanks to a superlative Chiara Consonni who is only surpassed in the sprint by Lorena Wiebes. Third a surprising Amber Van Der Hulst, in the ten even the excellent Silvia Persico, sixth.
But beyond the placings, the positive note of the day was the collective test of the girls directed by Davide Arzeni who were able to run compactly and be ready in the decisive moments of the race, especially in the final.
In fact, it is also thanks to the work of Martina Alzini, Elisa Balsamo, Eleonora Gasparrini, Vittoria Guazzini and Silvia Pollicini that Silke Smulders’ breakaway for the day was canceled just under ten kilometers from the finish.
In the last five kilometers it is a real battle between the sprinter trains. 2 km from the arrival, the DSM train takes over the command of operations, but the girls from Valcar-Travel & Service led by Vittoria Guazzini manage to undermine the opposing train until they take the lead. In the end it is an absolute brawl with Vittoria Guazzini who even goes so fast as to break away from the group creating a small hole promptly stitched up by her teammates.
In the last Km the cards were shuffled again and in the final duel Wiebes-Consonni it was the Dutch who prevailed.
