Grande notizia in casa Valcar – Travel & Service: la diciannovenne piemontese Eleonora Gasparrini, uno dei talenti più promettenti del ciclismo femminile italiano, ha rinnovato un contratto che la legherà alla Valcar – Travel & Service fino al 2023.
Un rinnovo che significa molto per la squadra del presidente Valentino Villa che si inserisce nel solco della valorizzazione di nuovi talenti e che segna l’inizio di un nuovo ciclo biennale con la conferma di una ragazza già protagonista di una stagione molto più che interessante.
Eleonora Gasparrini, che lo scorso anno da junior era stata capace il titolo di campionessa europea, sta disputando un’ottima stagione, nonostante la giovanissima età. Oltre che a mettersi a disposizione per le compagne di squadra con grande umiltà, la piemontese classe 2002 infatti ha già conquistato un podio a Parabiago nella gara vinta dall’olimpionica Rachele Barbieri (di cinque anni più grande di lei), è stata capace di trovare una Top Ten nella quinta tappa del Giro d’Italia donne (8/a nella Milano – Carugate) ed è riuscita a portare a termine la Liegi – Bastogne – Liegi, una delle classiche – se non ‘la classica’ – più dure del calendario World Tour.
“Ho rinnovato il contratto fino al 2023 perché qui mi sono trovata molto bene – ha raccontato Eleonora Gasparrini – non avevo dubbi che qui alla Valcar – Travel & Service avrei trovato l’ambiente giusto per me, ma dopo questi primi mesi di gare, ho compreso ancora di più che questo è il luogo giusto per crescere. In questa squadra si lavora bene, le ragazze sono al centro del progetto e c’è un grande gruppo. Penso di avere molti anni davanti a me e qui, per una giovane atleta, è l’ambiente ideale, perché qui stai bene, non ti manca niente per gareggiare ai massimi livelli e il direttore sportivo Davide Arzeni non mette particolari pressioni. Sono agli inizi: in questa prima stagione sono già cresciuta molto, ma nel futuro mi aspetto di imparare sempre di più e fare passi in avanti sia dal punto di vista fisico che dal punto di vista mentale.
