Un test superato sulla via della migliore condizione. Le due prove di World Tour, Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne e Gand Wevelgem confermano la crescita di Elisa Balsamo, della campionessa italiana Marta Cavalli e di Maria Giulia Confalonieri. La bella prestazione della Balsamo a De Panne (sesta classificata) le è valsa la nomination di prima italiana sul traguardo della classica belga dove, anche Cavalli (tredicesima) si è aggiunta alle velocità del gruppo delle migliori.
”Per me sono state due gare in cui la squadra è stata all’altezza della situazione, dove finora sono andate meglio, e anche i risultati sono una ventata di aria fresca in vista dei prossimi appuntamenti- ha commentato il direttore sportivo Davide Arzeni-. Va bene così, rientrare due volte nelle prime dieci posizioni non può che darmi grande fiducia sulla crescita di tutta la squadra”.
Così come a De Panne, anche nella Gand-Wevelgem, ottimo l’approccio alla gara da parte delle atlete, che hanno continuato a controllare le posizioni agli avamposti del gruppo a cominciare da Balsamo e Cavalli stesse rispettivamente nona e decima classificata sotto lo striscione di arrivo. Tutto questo è di buon auspicio verso la Dwars door Vlaanderen (Attraverso le Fiandre) in programma mercoledì 3 aprile, in Belgio.
La squadra giovanile intanto ha iniziato alla grande la stagione, vincendo già nella gara di esordio della categoria Esordienti. Marta Pavesi, tredicenne lecchese di Sirone, si è aggiudicata infatti il Trofeo Midas di Macherio (Monza e Brianza) battendo in volata il gruppo

The two WorldTour races Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne and Gent-Wevelgem had confirmed the growth of Elisa Balsamo, the Italian champion Marta Cavalli and Maria Giulia Confalonieri. The good performance of Balsamo in De Panne (sixth place) earned her the nomination of first Italian at the finish of the Belgian classic, where, even Cavalli (thirteenth) was added to the speed of the first group.

Meanwhile, the young development team has started their season winning already in the debut race of the U14 category. Marta Pavesi, 13-year-old from Sirone (Lecco) won the Trofeo Midas in Macherio (Monza and Brianza), beating the group in the final sprint.
